Our Projects
Jett Industries, Inc. was contracted to install client procured 36-inch diameter fixed cone valves and upgraded hydraulic power units at the Blenheim Gilboa Power Plant for New York Power Authority.
This traditional design-bid-build project was originally designed to be a triple 18-foot diameter tunnel storage system excavated with a soft-ground tunnel boring machine. During the bid period our team redesigned the project into a triple-box culvert system that reduced cost and provided additional storage to the client. Our proposed approach eliminated risk from the original design by utilizing a deep open-cut trench supported by a reinforced CB-slurry wall and soldier pile support of excavation system.
This project included modification to the top of the existing dam to set new Crest Gates System. System requires installation of stainless steel airlines/valves, instrumentation, equipment, wiring and controls to operate. Operations include: earthwork, setting precast building, paving, Ductbank, piping, equipment installation, demolition, concrete, assembling and setting gates, instrumentation, electrical wiring, hvac, and start up of the system.
This project included construction of a wastewater treatment facility, which is designed to treat an average daily flow of 130,000 gallons per day for a new community development comprised of 263 lots and 473 acres. The $6.1 million project treats water for residential homes, a community center, a recreational area and a 7,500-square-foot retail space.
The scope of work included modifications to the headwork’s of the plant with replacement of bar screens and grit removal equipment, replacement of existing primary clarifiers with new mechanical equipment, construction of four new SBR tanks with fine bubble diffusers, blowers and associated accessories. Work included demo of existing secondary clarifiers and converting tanks to sludge digesters, modification to existing chlorine contact tanks to allow for installation of UV equipment and new effluent parshall flume. The solids handling process was also upgraded with new thickening tank, gravity belt thickener and solids handling building.
The scope of work included site demolition, excavation and dewatering for new structures and piping systems. The team constructed a new 2-million-gallon-per-day activated sludge treatment train, which included two primary settling tanks and a primary sludge pump station, two new aeration tanks each consisting of three anoxic zones and one tapered aeration zone, two new secondary clarifiers and a secondary sludge pumping station, two new chlorine contact tanks and one gravity sludge thickener.
Lake Deforest is a drinking water supply reservoir maintained and operated by United Water Company of New York. The dam was constructed in 1954 with a bascule gate system to controlling reservoir levels and last upgraded in 1988. The project was to provide design/engineering services, permitting, furnish and install two new 50-foot long by 5-foot high bascule gates, with 260 linear feet of new schedule 80 stainless steel welded pipe contained in a 316 stainless steel trough and upgrades to the hydraulic pumps and system.
The GenOn Blowline Power Generation plant was severely impacted by Hurricane Irene in 2011 causing extensive damage to the local area. One of the impacts was to Minisceongo Creek where erosion and embankment failure exposed critical utilities including a 16” and 24” gas line and 4 -10” electrical lines. OCS Industries Inc, contracted Jett Industries, to encase the existing 16” and 24” gas lines as well as the four 10” electrical lines running beneath the Minisceongo creek designed by Paul C. Rizzo Engineering
Mountain View Estates is a condo complex in the Catskill Mountains and within the NYCDEP watershed, which required a $3 Million dollar upgrade of the existing wastewater treatment in order to be compliant with the watershed rules and regulations.
New York State Thruway Authority awarded Jett Industries, Inc the $2.1 M contract for the Rehabilitation of Lock E-8 on the Erie Canal in Schenectady, NY. Regulatory agencies involved included: US Coast Guard, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, NYS Barge Canal Corporation & NYS Department of Environmental Protection.
